Dragon Wars

Here is Chapter 1 of my new story! Enjoy... Oh, and this chapter is unedited, feel free to point out any grammar mistakes, I am welcome to criticism.

Chapter 1
The Invasion

Fourteen-year-old Cedrik raced over to where his dragon burned a finish line in the grass. In the shadowy forest, he ducked under loose vines and climbed over grey rocks. By the time he reached the burn mark, his dragon friend was half hidden in the late morning sunlight, sitting on the soft green grass. Cedrik sprinted past the finish mark, stopped, gripped his knees, and started panting.
"You always win." He telepathically told him.
“I know the forest by heart, you know. It is impossible to beat me. Plus it helps that I am a lot faster than you.” Grere said back, almost smiling.
Cedrik smiled, then started walking in the direction of home.
"Come on, we need to be home by noon."
His loyal companion followed him, flying over everything in the way. When they got to the house, Grere ran and leapt nimbly to his favorite perch, on a fallen cedar tree, now just a log and brush that used to be branches. Cedrik ran up to the small shack, noticing that his trip wire across the doorway was limp, meaning someone or something was inside.
Grere looked at the attentive Cedrik. His ears perked up, curious.
"Is everything okay?" The dragon asked.
“I think so. I wonder who visited our home in the middle of nowhere. I hope Sucron’s spies aren’t here.” Cedrik said.
Cedrik cautiously stepped up to the wire, then over it. He walked in the room and was startled by an old man.
He was gruffly greeted by the old man, somewhere in his fifties.
"Hello, boy." The man said.
Cedrik ignored the greeting with questions. "Why are you here? Who are you, and where did you come from?" He said, while studying the man. He was dressed as a peasant, but Cedrik knew he wasn't because he was very round. He gasped as he recognized the man that killed his father. The man ignored the three questions with a grunt.  “Recognize me, kid? You are the last of the Pennings. You are to come with me now!" Cedrik jumped at the command and ran out of the house. He ran to his dragon, suddenly afraid of the man that was trying to grab him unsuccessfully.
"Let's go Grere! We have to try to get out of here! You see the medal hanging from his neck? He is the man that killed my father!" He said as he climbed awkwardly onto the dragon's back.
The older man stumbled and fell.
"Get him men! He's getting away!" He said as he panted, obviously not used to chasing youngsters.
Grere brought him to the edge of the clearing, then lifted off and then flew in and out between the trees, knowing the fastest way out of the dense, green forest. Suddenly, a loud trumpet blast alerted Cedrik of at least twenty men, all individually riding on what looked like fire dragons.
This is a dream. It has to be! Cedrik thought wildly.
They weaved in and out between the brown trunks of trees, occasionally brushing against branches. Eventually, the fire dragons slowed then stopped one at a time, because the forest was too dense for them to keep up.
"I think we lost them. I wonder why they wanted you." Grere said suspiciously.
My father said as he was dying to go to Ben, my father’s best friend, when Sucron’s forces show up. Well, they did, so I think we should go, right?
“Alright, but next time think it through a little longer. Do you have your father’s sword?” The dragon said.
Yes. I have it right here.” He said while pointing to his back scabbard. “Let’s go see Ben.”
An hour later…
Grere came to a halt in midair, and then dove downward toward a small clearing in the forest.  When he landed, Cedrik climbed down, and then ran to the old farmhouse. He knocked on the door, then waited. He knocked again. He waited impatiently. He tried to open the door. Locked.
“I think I am in big trouble.”
Grere snorted, then said something.
“The fire dragons are about a mile away. We should go soon.”
Cedrik ran over, readjusting his scabbard on his shoulder. He jumped onto Grere, then felt himself elevate as the dragon traveled up.
“How close are they now?” Cedrik asked.
“They are about a minute away, if they go as fast as they can.”
Cedrik relayed that into his brain. I think we have a fight on our hands. Grere crouched, then sprung himself into the air. Cedrik drew his sword, gleaming silver-gold in the afternoon sun. “I have no idea how to use this.”
“Pretend you do, Cedrik.”
Cedrik raised it once the fire dragons came into distinguishable sight. The dragons swept towards Grere, their rider's swords shining.
Grere let loose a fire blast, smacking into the first of the pack. The dragon that was fireballed fell to the ground, screeching the whole way. The rider plunged, his clothes in flames. Cedrik cringed. He did not want to kill anyone. Obviously, his dragon had no problem with it. “Grere, you should just fly away. Can’t we outfly them?”
“No. Unless…”
“What?” Cedrik demanded impatiently.
“Unless there is an opening. They have us surrounded.”
“Perfect.” Cedrik mumbled.
The biggest dragon and his rider flew toward Grere and Cedrik, a fireball plowing the way. Grere dived beneath the bigger, more experienced dragon. Cedrik accidentally scraped his sword against the belly of the bigger dragon, and the dragon screeched.
The dragon's nostrils flared, smoke and sparks coming out. The dragon turned, then let loose a torrent of fire.
Grere dived, climbed, and swerved to avoid the fire. Cedrik held on, not used to such a rollercoaster ride. Suddenly, but not unexpectedly, a fireball grazed Grere's tail, and Grere yelped. Cedrik thought of something horrible.
“We can’t stand a chance, Grere! We have to get out of here before the slower dragons catch up to the others.”
“Cedrik, there is something I haven't told you about me yet. I am a Forest Dragon, as my mother was, but my father was one of the few Speed Dragons.”
Cedrik stared at his friend. A forest dragon was rare enough, but the speed dragon was the rarest of them all, much less the possibility of a Forest/Speed dragon. He then stared even harder. No wonder Grere was able to outrun the other dragons so quickly.
“Okay, get us out of here now.”
Grere threw himself into a screeching dive, faster than anything Cedrik felt before. The other dragons followed them down, not as risk-taking as Grere. Grere folded his wings in and traveled even faster. He arced into a loop when he neared the ground, and Cedrik's dark brown hair blew about wildly.
“Now what? Challenge fifteen dragons more powerful than you or me?"
“No, but I was going to try”.
Cedrik rolled his eyes. Overconfident dragon. He thought.
"I heard that."
He mentally kicked himself. Eavesdropper.
"I heard that too."
A fireball rocketed past them. They swung around then flew to the tree line. Grere landed softly in the forest, and tried to hide himself with his natural green camouflage. Cedrik hid his sword underneath some leaves, not risky enough to have the sun reflecting off of it.
"So this is what you had in mind."
“Yes. They will find us pretty quickly, so stay quiet.”
“I am being quiet.” Cedrik joked.

“You know what I mean.”

A small Lego movie I made...

This is a thirty-four second test Lego film I made a while ago in 1080p. It would be in around 3K if my computer had that resolution and Windows 7 supported it...
Unfortunately, I was unable to add music or voices to it. Music was because the original video had the LOTR soundtrack, "The Black Gate Opens" but I was concerned about copyright issues, so I just erased the music.
Voices, because I was going to do a longer film, but school came up so I ran out of time. Plus the fact that the structure in the scene was destroyed soon after the filming of this scene due to space issues. Keep in mind that this is only a test film, I will see about making longer films, possibly with voices.
Also, I did not get up at three in the morning to publish this, I am testing the scheduling as well.

Ah. Been a while, hasn't it?

The reason being, is that I switched computers--again--because the computer I had before was an Acer D250, and it was getting slow. [I can see you scrambling across to your search website to see what that is. If you read the text, you could have known that it was a netbook. If you weren't scrambling to the search website, well, good for you!] But, it was reliable, and worked perfectly for a year and a quarter. If you're wondering if I bought this computer [A Dell Latitude E6400, 14" laptop] new, no, I did not--thankfully--or I'd probably be bankrupt. They were used when I got them, and I had to uninstall some programs and even install Windows 7 on the netbook because XP was giving it issues.

I have now finally figured out how to upload things on a schedule so they automatically upload them, so I will be doing that for my three-year-old stories.

That's all for now,

Nathan

Star Wars 7

Here is Chapter 1 of my book, Star Wars 7!

Chapter 1
The Galactica Fleet
“Tie fighters coming in from mark 254!” Luke gripped the controls like the defense turret on Tatooine. He swung his X-wing toward a nearby Tie fighter, and fired his quads right at the target and destroyed it.
“Yahoo! We did it!” Wedge Antilles’ smile turned into confusion as he looked to the left. “Whoa! What is that??”
“Looks like an Imperial fleet to me,” said Luke.
        “No, the left side.”
Luke paused as he saw a gray ship that was big enough to be an empire star destroyer, from the books he read as a kid. “It’s a battlestar!!”
        “That’s a battlestar??? That’s the Battlestar Galactica?”
        “Yep.”
                                      * * *

“Hey, Starbuck, do you think those are Cylons in those ships?
“I don’t know, I have to get a good look at them. Maybe I can go out in my ship and take a look.”
“I think I’ll go with you.”
* * *
        “Luke?” Asked Wedge.
        “Yes?” Luke responded.
“Do you see those specs next to the Battlestar Galactica?”
        “Yes.” Luke answered.
“I think they are coming to meet us.”
“Well good luck in trying to make friends.” Static came as the specs grew into dots, then into triangle ships. Finally they could here a voice on the COM.
“What are you doing in gamma quadrant 57841?” Asked a voice. Luke hesitated before he spoke.
        “Blasting tie fighters.”
        “Well who are you anyway?”
“Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles. What’s yours?”
        “Starbuck.”
Antilles explained that they were fighting the mighty Empire and trying to destroy them.
“Maybe we can work together.” Antilles said.
“I guess we’ll have to, with that big army chasing us.” Starbuck answered.
* * *
On the rebel Solar they began to make plans.
“I think we should lightspeed over to Remus and set our base there,” said Leia.
“Maybe we can, but remember there is an Imperial outpost there, we have to fight to get there,” Luke advised.
"Or we could send a couple of our sneakships, and blast our way through,” Starbuck said.
“I think we should send ourselves, and a squadron of e-wings. Is that okay?” Luke volunteered.
"Sounds great! Let's go!" Wedge said.

Moments later, in their e-wings and vipers, they zoomed off to Remus. “50 fighters and tie fighters coming in,” Leia exclaimed.
Luke gripped the controls again the same day, and blasted several Tie fighters. Starbuck, with his experience, hit 20.
“5 star destroyers! X-wing squadron, y-wing squadron, a-wing squadron we need help!” Luke said. Moments later, in the cloudy sky of Romulus, 36 ships were coming-and something that had green, blue, yellow and orange blinking lights that is as big as a star destroyer- a Battleplanet!
Whoosh! The orange flame separated from the Battleplanet like a cat running from a dog. Aboard the Battleplanet…
        “Rocket approaching enemy, commander.”
“Good. W going to show those Imperials what we have in store for them.”
* * *
BAM! The rocket hit all five of the star destroyers.
 “Uh-oh.” Luke said
        “What?” Wedge replied.
“The third death star is here.” Luke calmly explained.
“The third death-OH NO!” Wedge exclaimed.
Suddenly a green flash whooshed past them and destroyed the fleet of 36 ships. Then, the death star light-speeded away. “Hey I have some 23 ships coming out of lightspeed on my scanner and they seem to be the red sector type!”
“Hey rebels! My name is Nathan Skywalker and these are my far-off friends!”
“Wow,” said Wedge. “Do you know what that means Luke!”
“I never knew I had a brother,” said Luke.
“Are you my long lost brother? The one I have been searching for years?” Nathan asked.
“Maybe, but I didn’t know if I had a brother.”
Nathan zoomed his Jedi starfighter over next to Luke’s x-wing and said to his companions:
“Take your c-fighters back at the red sector. I think I want to check this out.”
“But sir, we don’t know if they are the SSi Ruuk we’ve been fighting for years!” the commander exclaimed.
“Maybe it’s time to face them if they are. I have my lightsaber right here just in case.”
“Ok then, you are on your own.” Then the 22 ships left the same way. 30 minutes later, Nathan met Luke and the rest of rogue squadron on the ship Solar.
“So, when’s our next battle?” Luke asked the general.
“About in 5 minutes, so be ready to launch.”
        “Ok.”
Starbuck and Boomer stepped in the launch area. “We are ready to blast more of those tie fighters.” Starbuck said. Han and Leia stepped in. “We are going to go in the falcon and try to bomb this base." Leia said.
2 minutes later, they were all in they’re fighters when the general began to count down.
“5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and GO!” Whoosh! All the fighters launched into the star-sprinkled sky.

Suddenly, Nathan picked up something on is scanner. “Hey, looks like we are not the only ones out here.”
Then there came a voice: “Fighters, I am Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise.”

        “WOW!” Luke exclaimed.

Pictures galore

I haven't had internet access and enough time to post on my blog for a while. A few days ago we went to Mt. Rushmore, and here are some pictures to prove it:

My siblings and I picked out souvenirs from the gift shop. As you'd expect, the little ones [2-6] picked out things like, [brace yourself] plastic binoculars that barely work. Ellianna [8] was a little in between, picking out a supersized nickel. Kevan [10], Justan [12], and I [14] bought pocketknives, Kevan and Justan bought small ones while I got a big one, because I had money to pitch in. Anyway, all three had an etching of "Mt. Rushmore" with a picture of it, and on the other side it had our names. Pretty cool, huh? I'll show you mine:

That's all for now, folks!
Before I forget, Andi, did you go on any road trips or did you generally stay in one state for the rest of your life?

Thursday, November 22, 2012

Hello!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Mom told me that some people call it "turkey day" now, to try to take God out of it.
Andi:
We use to have 17, but the city only allows a certain number, so we got rid of some. What do you do for Thanksgiving?

Thursday, November 1, 2012

Today is. . .

November 1st!
I can't think of what to write!
But I can show you the chicken thing.

YEAH!!!

I recieved a hand-me-down computer from my grandma and grandpa, and it's cool once I load windows 7 on it. If you ask me, this is much better than facebook. Did you know I had my birthday? I got money from Mom and Dad, and I bought a double-bladed lightsaber and a wii game with it. It's not very sunny here, but It should be in a few weeks.

Friday, April 6, 2012

Hi there!

I got a new computer. It's a netbook and it's cool. Tell you more later in the afternoon.

Friday, March 16, 2012

Hello.

Here is a notice, the stories before and after this post I wrote a long time ago, so don't think that I don't write that well for my age. No, I am not going to give my age, but you can guess by looking at my picture.

By the way, I will start posting my Star Wars 7 story now.
For you dragon people, I will be posting chapters of my The Lone Dragon Rider of Tire story after Star Wars 7.

Chapter 4, 5, 6, and 7.

4- Can We Get to CHise?

Suddenly, three helicopters came and fired all their laser rockets at the tyrannosaurus rexes. One by one, the dinosaurs fell dead.
The boys felt so relieved that they wanted to yell and say “Hurray!” But they were too tired.
When they got home, they had a nice dinner of stegosaurus-shaped pancakes [They didn't want to face meat-eating ones anymore].
Then they went to bed.
The next day, the boys jumped into their jeep and zoomed off to the airport. When they got there, they asked for tickets to Chise.
“I’m sorry, but we do not have any available tickets to Chise this month. My guess is that DDS is taking dangerous dinosaurs there.” The man telling them this was tall, with short, brown hair, and about thirty years old. He was wearing a T-shirt that had an emblem of Sea-Tac airport on it, and he also wore shorts.
The boys knew they had to see what was going on at Chise. “Is there anything that goes to that island besides the DDS helicopters?”
The man looked at his computer for about three minutes then said, “We have a cheap airliner that’s going there. It’s a B-2 bomber.”
“How much?” Nathan said, leaning against the counter.
“Two hundred dollars a ticket. Six hundred dollars total if all three of you are going,” the man said, smiling.
“You call that cheap?” Nathan said angrily. “What are the normal rates for flying to the island?”
“Nine hundred dollars . . . each.” The man began looking impatient because the line of customers was growing from one to ten.
“Then we’re going to drive to San Francisco if your airport can’t keep the prices down!” Nathan decided.
The boys walked out of the airport.
“He’s not very friendly, is he?” Justan whispered to Nathan.
Thirty seconds later, Nathan started the jeep and drove down the road towards home.

When they walked into their house, they decided to play a game that afternoon. They sat down and got out the LEGO World Risk game. How you played is this way: you first roll the dice. It can land on blue (science), green (history), red (geography) or “mixed” (a fun one), or orange (which is roll again).
You then draw a card that matches the roll, and you announce the question on the back to the person whose turn it is. If he (or she) gets the answer right, he gets to put five to twenty men on the board, depending how hard the question is. And the rest of the rules are too complicated to put in this story.
Suddenly, the boys heard a knock. Nathan opened the door and the first thing he heard was, “You want some free tickets to Chise?”
They soon found out that the people who bought the tickets thought Chise was a great tourist center and decided to check it out. But they later learned that is was the opposite, so they went around seeing if anybody wanted the tickets.

5- How to Treat Dinos

Nathan, Justan, and Kevan got off the plane at Chise. The first thing they saw was a T-rex in a 900-foot net being brought into a giant pen right off to the side of the road.
But they weren’t here to look at the dinosaurs. They were here to learn about them. When they went into the DDSH in Chise, they went to the counter and Nathan asked, “When is the next tour?”
The man answered back, “Two hours and thirty minutes.”
“Great. Come on, boys, let’s go to the truck center and rent a truck. Then we can wait at the tour center.”
When they were in their truck, they zoomed across hills with lots of bumps until they got to the tour center. After that, they only had to wait thirty minutes, since the drive took two hours.
At the tour center Nathan walked back and forth, back and forth, checking his watch every two minutes until Kevan said, “When is he coming? He’s got to come sometime!”
Suddenly, a door swung open and a man came through. Nathan knew who he was. “The commander!” Nathan said in a whisper. “I thought he was in New York City!”
Twenty minutes later, they were on the road with the commander, and on to the first stop.

When they got there, the commander motioned to stop at the raptor-lizard habitat and said, “These raptor-lizards can shoot fire if you’re not careful, and they have lots of ideas about attack plans, even though they are small. So I advise you not to use the same attack plan twice.”
Then they drove over to the raptor habitat. Suddenly, a raptor broke through the metal wire and roared at them. The commander’s hand went up like lightning and fired the laser! The raptor went side to side and eventually fell over.

The commander said, “These dinos are capable of tearing an ATJ to a hundred pieces if you don’t fire quickly enough. They also are fast and can push a ton if they can’t tear you apart.”
They bounced over the raptor and over to the T-rex habitat. “These are the most dangerous. They can stomp a building to crumbs and bite through thick steel. These are also the least popular, so you won’t have much of a problem with these.”
The boys shuddered as they thought about what they would have done with the three T-rexes in the narrow street if the helicopters hadn’t come.
Now they knew how to treat the dinosaurs.

6- Raptor Attack!

One morning, Nathan was doing his math problems for college on the computer at home when he heard Kevan yell, “The commander is here, and he wants to talk to you!”
Nathan held up his hand and said, “I’ll be there after this problem.” When he finished, he walked into the living room of the small 1,000 square-foot house. He saw the commander sitting on the couch, talking to the boys.
When he saw Nathan, the commander stood up and said, “Congratulations! You earned 30,000 dollars for helping to take down the three T-rexes before you even learned about them!”
Nathan’s mouth dropped open. When he finally got to the point where he could talk again, he said, “Um . . . uh . . . we can’t take 30,000 dollars for only three t-rexes. And plus, we were only getting out of the mess we were in when we zoomed out.”
“No, you take the money,” the commander insisted. “That's what we do with all of our workers. Five thousand for a raptor, 500 for a raptor-lizard, and 10,000 for a T-rex.”
When he left, Nathan, Justan, and Kevan each had $10,000 in their pockets. The first thing they all said was, “Let’s go buy a tank!”
When they got to the store, they sold their jeep for 20,000 and bought a tank for 50,000. When they were all settled in the tank, they drove the six hours to Tonasket, and when they reached their destination they drove up Grandma and Grandpa’s driveway.

At the top of the hill they found out that five raptor-lizards were roaming around the cabin. The boys were safely inside the cabin and talking to Grandma about the raptor-lizards.
“I think they should be eliminated and taken somewhere else,” Grandma said.
Right when she spoke, a raptor-lizard crashed through the window and gave a loud snarl.
The boys drew their hand pistols and shot him down. Pss-pss-pss went the guns.

“One down, only four to go,” Nathan said.
The rest of the afternoon they guarded the cabin while Grandpa fixed the window and picked up the glass. When he was finished, the boys were ready to hunt the rest of the raptor-lizards. They used one of the attack plans the commander had given them. It was to stay together, just in case somebody got hurt.
Crunch, crunch, crunch went the leaves as they walked through the forest. When they got to the edge of the seventeen-acre property, they found raptor-lizard tracks.

“Sh! We are pretty close to where they hide out,” Kevan whispered.
Suddenly, two raptor-lizards leaped out of the bushes and snarled at them. They approached and snarled some more.

The boys backed up while and slowly drew their guns. Pss-pss-pss the bullets bounced off the raptor-lizards’ backs. Suddenly they felt a fence behind them. They were trapped!
BAM! WHOOSH! A huge laser rocketed through the air and landed right on the two dinos. They fell flat.
Grandpa crunched through the leaves and said, “I thought you might need some help.”
Then another two raptor lizards jumped out and Grandpa said, “A lot of help.”
The boys still had their pistols in their hands and saw one of the raptor lizards open its mouth and snarl. Then Nathan had an idea. If he aimed his gun at the raptor lizard’s mouth, then he would be dead.

Ps! Nathan aimed and fired. The bullet went right into the mouth and the raptor lizard fell flat. However, the other one was aiming his bites and pounces at Justan and Kevan.
The boys fired their guns at the raptor lizard and it bounced off its back again and again. Nathan saw his chance. The raptor lizard opened its mouth and gave a loud snarl. Everything seemed to be in slow motion when Nathan fired at the wide-opened mouth.
The raptor lizard fell flat.

7- At Last!

Later, Nathan, Justan, and Kevan traveled to the African jungle and found and destroyed nine raptor-lizards, three raptors, and two T-rexes. That afternoon they found the most dangerous T-rex ever! Its gleaming teeth, glaring red eyes, and razor-sharp claws sent shivers down the boys’ backs.
Kevan leaped off the tank platform and into the grass.
The T-rex noticed the tank and roared, stomped, and—to Nathan’s terror—charged.
Nathan pointed the tank’s laser at the T-rex and fired. Nothing happened. The huge dinosaur roared again and picked up Kevan by the teeth. Nathan jumped out of the tank, followed by Justan, who just happened to grab some rope and dynamite.
“Hand me the dynamite!” Nathan yelled to Justan.
Justan threw the bomb over to Nathan, and Nathan threw the dynamite at the legs of the T-rex. He was holding Kevan, who was screaming.
BAM! The dynamite exploded and the T-rex landed on the ground. He moved his legs, as if expecting to move forward, toward the two people.
Kevan scrambled out of the T-rex’s jaws and ran toward the tank. Justan and Nathan got busy tying down the T-rex until the helicopters could take the T-rex to Chise.
The helicopters came and lifted the tyrannosaurus rex into the net and took off to Chise.
When the three boys got home, they had lunch and went back to their tank. They climbed into it and zoomed off to Louisiana swamp. They rammed into some raptor-lizards and destroyed them. They zoomed over to a clearing and saw a whole army of raptor lizards. They destroyed each and every one of them.
Nathan said, “Why would there be so many of them in one place?” They zoomed around the next bend, and what they saw was too hard to believe!
WOW!” Nathan said as he drove into the clearing. “Eggs everywhere!” Then they saw two towering T-rexes roar and charge.
“Yikes! Dodge!”
The tank swerved wildly and straightened. Nathan tugged at the launcher activators.
WOOWOOSH! B-BAM! The two rockets hit the T-rexes and they fell flat. Nathan called into his 2,000-mile-limit walkie-talkie and said, “We found the Mother Base for the dinosaurs.”
Hours later, the dinosaurs were all extinct.
Nathan, Justan, and Kevan went on their vacation—just like they’d planned two weeks before.

New Story

I am writing a new story. [And no, it isn't as bad as the Dinosaur story.] :-)

The title is [Drumroll please]

The Lone Dragon Rider of Tire!

Yes, I am writing a dragon book. I already have a prologue and two chapters.

Nathan

Chapter 4.

3- T-rex Encounter
When Nathan, Justan, and Kevan got to Phoenix, they didn’t see any dinosaurs.
Yet.
But just then, they heard a plink in front of the jeep. They saw what it was—a pteranadon.
“Sorry. I guess I didn’t see your jeep,” called a voice from a DDS helicopter hovering above.
Nathan looked at the boys and shook his head. “Now I wish we’d got something bigger.”
WHAM! WHAM!
The guy in the helicopter warned, “Hey, you in that jeep! You better watch out! A T-rex is coming your way!”
WHAM! WHAM!
“No, two . . . three . . . yep, three dinos are about 500 feet around the corner.” He paused. “There they are!”
A big head with maybe 400-500 teeth and glaring red eyes peeked around the corner.
“Maybe he’s looking for the tanks,” Kevan whispered to Nathan. Then the huge head came out fully.
Now I REALLY wish we’d got something bigger, Nathan thought. He reached for the joystick and pulled the trigger. A green flash came out and hit the T-rex, but he didn’t fall down like the raptor did. Instead, the T-rex’s eyes started to turn redder. Then all of a sudden he charged. The two other T-rexes came around the corner.
“NOW I REALLY, REALLY WISH WE’D GOT SOMETHING BIGGER!” Nathan yelled.
It was a good thing the jeep was fast, because it zoomed out of that tiny street right underneath one of the T-rex’s legs. The dinosaur looked confused and looked around. When he saw the jeep roaring its engine off, he snorted and ran towards it.
Kevan and Justan looked around and yelled to Nathan, “Must go faster! Must go faster!”
Nathan rolled his eyes and thought, Those boys watch Jurassic Park too much. And he just kept driving like a hot-rod in the world-record-race. Nathan didn't look back. And he didn't go crazy [unlike some people].

Chapter 3.

Sorry about the gap in between these two chapters. Here it is.

The next day, the boys hurried through their Switched-On Schoolhouse and rushed out the door to go buy an ATT [all-terrain tank] with their combined savings of $30,000.
When they got there, they found out the ATT was about $50,000, so they got an ATJ [all-terrain jeep] for $20,000. As they were driving around, they talked about what kind of equipment they would need.
“Hey Justan, Kevan, now that we have a vehicle, should we go hunt dinos, or should we capture them and take them to Chise?” Nathan wanted to know.
“I think we should capture them,” Kevan suggested.
“Me too,” agreed Justan.
“Then I think we should go and buy the meat we need for luring them in,” Nathan said, “and the cage for taking them to the helicopter landing pad.”
When they finally got to the DDSH [Dino Defense Squad Headquarters] the boys went to the front desk and said, “We would like the kind of meat dinosaurs eat, and we need a cage.”
“A BIG one,” Kevan added.
Justan smiled and nodded.
The clerk ran it through the cash register and said, “That will be one thousand dollars, please.”
The boys looked at each other.
I didn’t know it cost so much money for a cage and meat, Nathan thought. I thought it would be around 500 dollars, but instead, it’s double. How are we going to pay for it? We still need to buy a shield generator for the truck, ’cause the boys are young and—
“I’d like the money please,” said the clerk.
“We changed our minds,” Nathan said. “I think we should get three machine guns, three rounds of bullets, and ATJ size lasers instead.” Nathan looked at the boys and mouthed why they couldn’t buy the cage.
And the boys nodded their approval of this new plan.
“That will be 600 dollars.”
Nathan took out the cash and handed it over. He took the machine guns and the bullets and gave them to the boys. Then he went into the back room with the clerk to get the lasers. Thirty minutes later, they had the lasers installed and the machine guns ready for anything.
They were on the road again and on their way to Phoenix, Arizona, because they heard there were raptors there that were eating through windows and tearing up stores.
Suddenly a raptor jumped right into the road! The boys trembled as Nathan reached for the joystick that controlled the newly-installed lasers.
WOOSH! The green laser shot out like it was playing cat-and-mouse with the top of the truck. The laser hit the raptor. THUNK! The raptor hit the ground like a ton of lead. The boys were relieved because they didn’t know the raptor was going to get that close.
Kevan laughed.  “It’ll never get up off the ground now.”

Mario Bros

Chapter 2

"OH NO! The city is on fire! We have to stop the dinos before it’s too late! Full throttle, Kevan!" Nathan exclaimed.
They whizzed past raptors and lizards, stegosauruses and triceratops. They got to the very middle of the city and what they saw made their eyes go crazy—a tyrannosaurus rex on top of a building, and a dangerous pteranadon circling overhead.
"Nathan, hang on to that rope and try to distract the T-rex,” the commander ordered, “while we get the bombs in the back. And . . . be careful!”
Unexpectedly, another T-rex leaped out of what seemed like nowhere. Nathan’s hands shook as he reached for the rope and slid into the air. Raptors everywhere hissed at him. Then two minutes later, he felt himself going back up into the helicopter. “W-what happened?” Nathan stammered.
“Remember, that was supposed to be a test,” the commander explained. “You may be face-to-face with a hungry raptor waiting for his dinner next time.” Then he said something unexpected. “You three are now in the DDS squad. In fact, the last test had a twenty-five-year-old guy. He did the exact same thing you did, Nathan. Except about the part where he had to wait until I pulled him up. He didn’t like it, so he started climbing up the rope!”
The three boys laughed. When they went to bed that night at 11:00 pm, they slept in till 10:00 in the morning.

The Day the Dinosaurs Came

“ROAR!”
Nathan cringed when he heard the Tyrannosaurus Rex being captured in the middle of the street. He ran to the window to see what was happening. A helicopter whooshed in the air and dropped a fifty-pound metal hook.
CLANG! The hook dropped to the ground. One of the soldiers put the hook on a 900-foot wire net, with the T-rex inside. Then the helicopter lifted the T-rex and flew off to what Nathan knew was a deserted island called Chise in the Philippines archipelago. Nathan walked out of his house, relieved to see one less T-rex in this city. Kevan and Justan walked over. “When we get rid of these dinosaurs,” Justan said, “we’ll all go on a vacation together, just the three of us.”
“Thanks, guys, but the dinosaurs keep multiplying,” Nathan said sadly, “and we have to find just where they are doing that.” Just then a Pteranadon circled overhead.
“Science can probably tell us that. We do know that T-rexes have to go somewhere, like a big cave,” Kevan said while stomping around like a T-rex.
“And raptors could dig big holes in the ground with their claws.” Justan grinned and made digging motions in the air.
“You’re right,” Nathan agreed. “They do that. But we don’t have trucks or jeeps or helicopters that can go into caves, holes, and other hiding places.”
Then he added, “But we have some twelve, fourteen, and nineteen-year-olds here, and I think we should go meet dinosaur defense squad.”
The next day, the three boys leaped out of bed. Kevan and Justan did their Switched-On Schoolhouse as fast as lightning. Then they flew in their private helicopter to the DDS [dinosaur defense squad] headquarters.
F-ffffffffffttt went the blades as they took off into the clear blue sky. Minutes later, they were in the DDS office. The commander said, “We need soldiers and DDS guys. You three young men could join the DDS troops. Find yourselves some gear and let’s go!”
Soon the three boys, Justan, Kevan, and Nathan were back in the sky with the commander, looking for a test spot. They finally settled on the marshy land of Louisiana, which was filled with crocodiles.
"Do you have any guns?" the commander asked.
"No, do you?" Nathan answered.
"We’ll have to go somewhere else. Maybe New York City. There are plenty of T-rexes up there."
So off they went to New York City. They were within ten minutes of the city when they saw smoke and fire.
